\nInterior design is my passion!<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2011, I founded my office for interior architecture, architecture, design, and consulting in D\u00fcsseldorf-Benrath<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

After studying in Detmold and four years of project work in an architectural office, I<\/span>
\nestablished the interior architecture department for RKW Architektur+ in 1991 and led it as managing director and partner until 2011. Our track record during this period: 12 won competitions, a 2nd prize at the German Interior Architecture Award BDIA (Douglas Holding Supervisory Board floor), the MIPIM Award for Speckshof Leipzig, and numerous large-scale projects carried out with my team (e.g., KFW Frankfurt).<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2011, I have been self-employed \u2013 with my own office in a renovated steel construction workshop. My conviction is that good interior architecture positively shapes and changes unconscious perception. Holistically understood interior architecture includes the precise analysis of existing architectural structures, in-depth client consultation, design, and the pleasant experience of users. <\/span><\/p>\n

Good designs are flexibly adaptable to function and need, individually, warmly, and timelessly reduced.<\/span><\/p>\n

This standard applies universally, whether for the complete design of a company headquarters, an extensive renovation of existing buildings, or the development of a piece of furniture to series production readiness. We rarely participate in selected competitions, but when we do, it’s with full commitment. We are fortunate never to have lost a competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among important future topics, I count advising owners on project developments for special repurposing of existing buildings. Thus, based on our knowledge of the existing Peter Behrens building in D\u00fcsseldorf, we initiated its conversion into the House of History NRW. I consider the conversion of office space into residential space to be one of the most important future topics. For the historic monastery Haus Aspel in Rees, approved preliminary building applications and digital documentation are available.<\/span><\/p>\n

The planning of semi-public or private spaces \u2013 for people and art \u2013 brings me particular joy, as recent projects for renowned private collectors can attest.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am happy to share my experience and passion, among other things, as a lecturer at the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in D\u00fcsseldorf, in the training and further education of young talents in my office, or through scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n
